Emma Rose Savage - VC Angel

Dance Student Teacher De Montfort University

VENUS COW MISSION STATEMENT "Take care of our customers, take care of our employees and give back."

Venus Cow was created to give all women frustrated by the lack of affordable, ethical high quality staple clothing on the high street, a place to find their go to pieces like black leggings, the things we all wear everyday.

Our customers are at the heart of Team VC, #teamvc something set up when we began 3 years ago and decided, just like M&S did in the 50's and 60's, to reach out to the women who wore the PBL Perfect Black Leggings for real to help us spread the word about how great they actually are and who better to listen to? All to help Shirley's mission to save British textiles and manufacturing, support her passion for free coaching/mentoring and get  women all around the globe back in clothes they love.

Being a trusted brand is at the core of everything we do and why it is so important for us to share the stories of the women, our genuine customers, all different ages, shapes, sizes and lifestyles but with a common vision and goal; to make the world better.

In our brand ambassador profiles over the summer months we are rewarding some of the incredible, diverse women, our VC Angels, who have been kind enough to jump on board and post their selfies and style posts to help us promote, asking nothing in return, by featuring their personal stories of achievement, adversity and all round girl power.

The first person to hit the hot seat and answer the our questions is Emma Rose Savage.

Q. What is your age?

A. I am 17

Q. Where are you from in the world?

A. Nottingham, UK

Q. What is your Greatest Achievement/Proudest Moment?

A. My greatest achievement is being accepted into a performing Arts Academy at the age of 14.

Q. What was the greatest obstacle you had to overcome to get there?

A. The greatest obstacle I had to overcome was the idea of self-confidence as I learned through the audition process about individuality and how I needed to start believing in myself to achieve my dreams.

Q. What do you do for fun/ to relax?

A. For "me" time I love making a cup of tea and sitting on the beach at my local nature reserve (on a good day!) as I am able to have a clear mind and completely relax. My chill place.

Q. What is the most exciting place you have visited that you long to return to someday?

A. DUBAI!!! It's a no brainer, I absolutely love the atmosphere created there and their culture is really interesting.

Q. Who in your life inspires you the most?

A. Matthew Bourne inspires me most as he is the director of my favourite dance company.

Q. What is it about them that drives you to work hard and be better?

A. He inspires me as he is not afraid to be unique and put his own twist on his work, which is what I want to have the confidence to do in life.

Q. How do you keep yourself motivated to keep going when things get tough?

A. I get through a challenge by always thinking that if my day was awful the next day couldn't be any worse. True belief in the phrase "When you hit rock bottom, there's only one way up."

Q. What's the one thing you want to achieve/do before you die?

A. I would love to go on a bungee jump as I am absolutely terrified of heights but it's definitely something I could push myself to do.

Q. What did you do today? A. I went to college and attended my dance and geography classes. then after I taught dance to younger pupils at my local dance school.

Q. If you could do any profession/job what do you think you'd be great at and enjoy doing the most?

A. I would absolutely love to have a career as a dancer as it is what I have been pushing myself to do for many years now. My ultimate dream would be to be a part of Matthew Bourne's dance company.

Q. What was the last book you read?

A. Harry Potter and The Cursed Child (couldn't wait to get my hands on it)

Q. Who are you listening to at the moment?

A. I enjoy acoustic covers in the charts. Makes me relaxed but then also feel included in the modern day music world, haha!
