The Thinking Behind Overthinking It

Managing obtrusive or unwanted thoughts

Madness creeps in little by little and is becoming a rapidly growing problem in this current culture where all our thoughts are channelled by big brand marketing, telling us what we should do and buy in order to be happy and accepted by others. With this type of manufactured thinking, fuelled by desire, greed and a want it now mentality, there is no room for intrusive thoughts, those thoughts you have no control over because they are always there to tell you the truth. Blocking out the truth and ignoring your gut instinct when you know what you are doing is wrong in order to have what you want, regardless of the outcome, is called status anxiety, always worrying about what others think above what you know yourself.

This truth is universal and better known as your instincts, the chocolate you know you should not eat because you’re on a diet but scoff anyway and then turn to denial for comfort, keeping you fat and forever fighting to take back control.

Intrusive thoughts that give you anxiety must not be acted on because if you do, the thoughts become obsessive and unhealthy until fear of the thoughts becoming a reality then turns into OCD behaviour causing you to latch on to unnecessary rituals and negativity.

It is the fear faced that must become your reality, not the anxiety panic attacks when a thought is caught and sticks because facing the fear is what sets you free by learning to deal with the anxiety, then learning how to keep on top of it.

We all have these intrusive unwanted thoughts daily and brush them aside naturally, choosing not to act on them but to do the right thing and make the right choices.
