If you spend your life complaining you never have enough time to enjoy it, you are at risk of ending up washed out, miserable and regretful. Finding some quality time for yourself to do what you love, now and again, is the most important rule you must learn when seeking true happiness. So many of us have to work long hours to just survive day to day and by the time we do sit down to relax, we are fast asleep in front of the TV with frozen dinner on a tray.
Time management is all about reorganizing your lifestyle, in order to plan things more effectively around the things you have to do and the things you don’t have to do but do because you are stuck in a rut. There are some simple things you can do to plan your time more effectively, starting with first recognizing you will die unfulfilled, if you continue complaining and not doing.
1. Go to bed an hour earlier and get up an hour earlier because the start of the day is when you are at your best, so use it to clear your mind and meditate, then go for a walk and think.
2. Keep a diary of what you do and how you feel after you have done it because doing this will allow you to see what you do that makes you miserable or makes you happy.
3. Once you know what makes you miserable eliminate the things you can change and those you cannot change, recognise them and then start to ask yourself why.
4. There is nothing that cannot be changed, all you need is the confidence to take the first step and this step comes after finding the time to think more.
