It doesn't happen to me but I see this problem in life coaching sessions every day. People getting stuck. The moment something affects someone negatively, some one says something bad about them, they have a disagreement, their feelings are hurt, many people lose the ability to detach, think straight, resolve the problem and move forward. My job as a free life coach is to show them the path through, so I give the tools and guidance to act on, I do their thinking for them until they have the confidence and self belief to do it for themselves.
When you work at what you love you never work again.
Is your life going nowhere, monotonous, boring, uninspiring? Most of us are sitting waiting for life to suddenly happen/start, that incredible bolt of lightening transporting us to a tropical island but the truth is most of us work hard all year to escape for two weeks to Benidorm.
It is usually fear that holds us back from being the best we can be. So stop wasting time feeling sorry for yourself and begin to get in touch with your inner self.
12 Ways How We Get In Touch With The Inner Self?
Being stuck in a rut you will find you have low energy, be constantly confused and undecided. Get out in the fresh air and do some exercise to lift your spirit.
-Walking in the countryside is excellent and free for anyone.
-Stimulate your senses by looking instead of seeing, listening instead of hearing.
-Participate instead of being passive.
-Change your diet to lift your energy levels.
-Change your routine and create new routines.
-Change your job and change your friends.
-Go on holiday alone.
-Set yourself these goals and motivate yourself to try something new.
-Focus only on the present.
-Whenever you do not know what to do, practise meditation.
-Do something for someone else today and feel positive straight away.
We have all had the opportunity to reevalute our lives over the last few months and this space and time will have helped many change some of their patterns and habits (maybe like going to pub) into perhaps getting out for a bike ride. However a dramatic shift in circumstances can also bring people down so now might be the time if you are feeling really low and lonely to do something about it.
Set yourself a challenge, maybe walking two miles non stop, start by writing it down. writing something down solidifies an idea in your subconscious. Maybe try talking to a stranger you fancy in the supermarket. Offer to help out an old person by doing their shopping, cleaning, garden. Climb a mountain, go bungee jumping or give up smoking. Whatever you decide to do, do it now. Write down your intention and record the events, feelings and results daily as you accomplish new things.
Always focus on the present and don’t wallow in the past. There is no room for regret in your new life.
5 top tips for getting out of a rut;
- Stop listening to yourself (your negative inner voice) and start listening to others for ideas.
- Stop complaining. Voicing something negative solidifies it just like writing down something positive)
- Keep happy with a positive sense of humour.
- Learn a new skill. Take up a class.
- Try to think about others everytime you find yourself thinking of yourself.
